We offer a choice of two self contained bed and breakfast cottages with a unique ambience, bringing together the best of the McLaren Vale wine district and the beauty of Kuipto Forest .

Imagine yourself falling in love again in your own private getaway just five minutes from the McLaren Vale wineries, snuggled in front of a log fire in winter or just relaxing in your own rainwater spa bath. After a luxuriously romantic night spent in your hand-turned, queen size bed, share a two or three course breakfast in your private garden - or take advantage of the formal gardens at the rear of the property.

Take a leisurely walk through Kuipto Forest after breakfast and photograph the kangaroos and their joeys as they feed. It's something you can only dream of doing in the city. Or stroll through the scented pine and eucalypt forests in the evening looking for wildlife by torchlight (remember to bring a torch!). If that sounds too strenuous, you can laze about at the cottage and feed the family of resident magpies on leftover bacon rind. I'm sure this still counts as communing with nature and it's nowhere near as taxing.

Fifteen minutes drive takes you to the McLaren Vale main street for coffee, lunch, wine tasting or shopping. The same distance in the opposite direction is the charming historic German village of Hahndorf.

It's hard to believe you are only forty five minutes from the Adelaide GPO at Forest Gate Cottages. Many Australians drive longer than that to work - and they don't have the pleasure of clean country air and gentle breezes whispering through the trees.

Both bed and breakfast cottages have fully equipped kitchen facilities, separate dining areas and lounge rooms with log fires. There are beautiful queen-sized beds with chiropractic mattresses. Walnut Cottage has a spa bath and Farmers Cottage has a large old-world claw foot bath.

Advance bookings for accommodation are essential and those guests wishing to ride the Kidman Trail or just trail ride in the area will need to book our recently completed stables well in advance at the time they book their cottage.
